Project Information

The Mission reviewed the feasibility study submitted by the Consultants under TA No. 2841-PHI in consultation with the concerned National Government Agencies and Local Government Units. The Mission also verified the beneficiary consultations conducted by the Consultants by village visits. The Mission also discussed and reviewed the objectives, scope, components, cost estimates, and implementation and financing arrangements of the proposed Project with the National and Local Governments. In addition, the Mission met with representatives of other funding agencies and discussed with them common approaches, strategies and policies on irrigation development in the Southern Philippines. A review the loan proposal in the context of the Government’s development objectives and the Bank’s country operational strategy for the Philippines was also undertaken.

•    Visited all the proposed sites for subprojects listed by the Consultant team of the TA for CISs in Agusan del Norte and assessed the technical and socio-economic conditions of proposed CISs.

•    Selected one CIS subproject for implementation under the ensuing project considering the technical and socio-economic conditions of the site.

•    Conducted pre-feasibility study together with NIA staff and the Mission members and submitted a report by the end of the Fact-finding Mission.

•    Recommended NIS for further feasibility study.

•    Provided the relevant sections to the Mission’s MOU, and to the RRP, and carried out any assignments requested by the Mission leader to accomplish the Mission objectives and subsequent processing of the Project in the Bank.
