Project Management Services associated with Philippines Australia Port Security Capacity Building Project
Description of Project

On 28 April 2004, the Government of the Philippines (GoP) and Government of Australia (GoA) agreed to a joint “Philippines Australia Port Security Capacity Building Project”. The project is part of the Australian Government’s 3 year $5M Philippines Counter-Terrorism Assistance initiative funded through the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID). The initiative assisted the Philippines to strengthen port security arrangements and developed and implemented port security plans. The project was comprised of 3 components:

  1. Building a National Framework for Port Security
  2. The development and implementation of port security plans and
  3. Project management

Services Provided
  • SDS was involved with component 3, working directly to DOTARS, and assisting the DOTARS Policy Adviser in day-to-day management of the project and its various training activities.

  • Managed all training activities conducted

  • Assisted in preparing reports and finalization of security plans of ports.
